How To Screencast: Alternate Access Mappings or AAM

In this Screencast I am going to present 2 topics that merge into one. Alternate Access Mappings and for this demo we are also looking at the creation of an Extranet site. AAM is one of those subjects that has seen a lot of attention in Newsgroups, Forums and PSS calls to Microsoft. I believe that seeing it in action is sometimes easier than simply reading about the subject which is why I have attempted to accurately provide an easy to follow example on how AAM works and how we configure it.

If you would rather read up on the subject I highly recommend you pay a visit to the following sites.

Troy Starr(MSFT), Adam Buenz(MVP) and Todd Klindt(MVP) All three published excellent posts on the subject and Troy and Adam took it fairly deep. Very good reading.

If you're the visual type like I am then sit back and enjoy.

LOL thanks Shaun.

To add to this... if you installed the Infrastructure Update recently and are having issues with AAM there was a August update patch that was released and resolves this issue.

Kirit,  Id do a search for Troy's excellent posting on AAM on the SharePoint Team Blog but off the top of my head ISA should address this for you
